RowCodes Installer Referral and Listing Terms

Effective: October 13, 2026

RowCodes LLC (“RowCodes”) recommends or refers independent installers only as a convenience to its customers. The farmer selects, hires, schedules, directs and pays the installer. RowCodes does not pay, direct, schedule or supervise installers and is not responsible for their work. Part 1 applies to RowCodes customers and is incorporated into the Customer Subscription Agreement. Part 2 is signed by each installer listed by RowCodes.

9 sections

Part 1: Installer Referral Disclaimer

1.RowCodes does not install

RowCodes LLC sells third-party-manufactured irrigation hardware and provides software and alert services. RowCodes does not perform installation.

2.Referrals only

If you ask, RowCodes may recommend or refer independent installers from its listing. A referral is only a convenience. It is not an endorsement, guarantee or warranty of any installer's skill, licensing, insurance, price, availability or work. You are free to use any qualified installer, including your own electrician or pump company.

3.You select, hire, schedule and pay the installer

You decide whom to hire. You agree the scope, price and schedule directly with the installer, direct the work, and pay the installer directly. RowCodes does not pay installers, set their prices or schedules, or supervise their work.

4.Not RowCodes’ agent

Installers, including any RowCodes refers, are independent businesses. They are not RowCodes' employees, agents, partners or subcontractors, and cannot make promises, give warranties, quote prices or sign anything for RowCodes.

5.RowCodes is not responsible for installer work

RowCodes is not responsible for any installer's work, workmanship, licensing, permits, insurance, safety, price, schedule, acts or omissions, or for any damage, injury or loss an installer causes, including wiring, pump-panel connections, plumbing, meter placement, trenching, or damage to crops, wells, pumps or property, whether or not RowCodes referred the installer. Any claim about installation is between you and the installer.

6.No referral fees

RowCodes does not charge you for referrals and receives no payment from installers for them.

7.Check licenses and insurance yourself

Before hiring, check the installer's license at cslb.ca.gov and ask for proof of general liability insurance and, if they have employees, workers' compensation insurance. Pump-panel electrical work typically requires a C-10 Electrical license; pump work may fall under a C-61 limited-specialty classification (such as D-21 Machinery and Pumps); plumbing (C-36) and well work (C-57) have their own licenses; permits may be required. Jobs under $1,000 total that need no permit and are not part of a larger project may be exempt (Bus. & Prof. Code § 7048). Get a written contract from your installer.

8.Specifications are not supervision

RowCodes publishes installation specifications so the hardware works with the Service. Publishing them does not mean RowCodes supervises or approves the installer's work. If an installation does not meet them, RowCodes may be unable to support it until your installer fixes it.

Part 2: Installer Listing Terms and Acknowledgment

Installer Listing Terms and Acknowledgment

For independent installers who wish to be included on RowCodes' installer referral list. These terms create no employment or service contract, and RowCodes pays nothing under them.

Listing terms. By signing, I acknowledge and agree:

  1. What the listing is. RowCodes LLC may include my business name, contact details, service area and license classifications in a list it gives to farmers who ask for installer names. RowCodes does not promise any referrals, may list other installers, and may change or remove my listing at any time, including if my license or insurance lapses.

  2. Farmers hire and pay me, not RowCodes. If a farmer contacts me, the farmer and I agree on scope, price and schedule directly, and the farmer pays me directly. RowCodes does not pay me, set my prices, schedule or assign my work, supervise me, or approve my work. I am free to decline any job.

  3. Independent business. I run my own independent business. I set my own prices, hours, methods, tools and helpers, and I may work for anyone, including RowCodes' competitors. I am not RowCodes' employee, agent, partner or subcontractor.

  4. No referral fees. Neither I nor RowCodes pays the other anything for referrals or listings.

  5. No authority for RowCodes. I will not present myself as RowCodes, wear or display RowCodes branding as if I were RowCodes staff, or make promises, warranties, price quotes or agreements for RowCodes. I will tell farmers I am an independent business they are hiring directly.

  6. Licenses, permits, insurance and safety. I will do only work I am licensed and qualified to do, get required permits, and keep general liability insurance (at least $1,000,000 per occurrence) and any workers' compensation insurance the law requires. I will send RowCodes updated license and insurance information each year and tell RowCodes within 10 days if either lapses. I am responsible for my own and my workers' safety, including lockout/tagout at pump panels, trench safety, pesticide re-entry rules and Cal/OSHA requirements.

  7. Product specifications. So the equipment works with the RowCodes Service, I will follow the manufacturers' instructions and RowCodes' published product specifications. I will keep manual override at every pump and valve and never bypass pump safety devices (pressure switches, overloads, chemigation interlocks, backflow devices). I understand these are product requirements, not instructions on how to run my business.

  8. My work is my responsibility. I am responsible to the farmer who hires me for my work and for any damage or injury I cause. To the extent caused by my work or negligence, I will defend and indemnify RowCodes against claims arising from my work.

  9. Confidentiality. If I see RowCodes' non-public information (configurations, wiring diagrams, firmware, logins, pricing, customer lists or farm data), I will keep it confidential, use it only for the farmer who hired me, not copy or reverse engineer it, and delete it when asked. I will not share one farmer's data with anyone else. This does not limit my general skills or use of public information. (There is no non-compete; California voids them, Bus. & Prof. Code § 16600.)

  10. Suggestions. If I give RowCodes suggestions about its products, RowCodes may use them freely, and I assign to RowCodes any rights I have in those suggestions.

  11. Ending the listing. Either of us may end my listing at any time by written notice (email is fine). California law applies.
