Wireless valve automation replaces the wire from the pump house to the valve with a radio. RowCodes puts a field hub on a mast at the pump house and a solar valve on the riser. You claim the valve by scanning the code on the unit.
Hub, valve, and a timer on the valve
A new command needs the hub. An open that was already accepted carries an auto-close time on the valve. When the hub drops, that valve still shuts on its clock.
